M. Jahromi Codes: About Me and This Website More than half a century of my professional carrier has been devoted to upstream and midstream oil and gas, founding and managing companies business development, directing projects, and other energy-related activities. Since the early 2010s, global warming, climate action, and ecosystem protection have also become central areas of my work and research. Through M. Jahromi Codes, I share some of my experience, knowledge, and scientific and technical perspectives on energy and climate—primarily in the form of infographics. My aim is to enable readers, at a glance, to grasp the subject and central question of each Code and, if interested, explore the accompanying explanations, evidence, and references on this website. During the first half of 1980, until the outbreak of war on 22 September, I worked as a drilling operations supervisor for the National Iranian Oil Company in the oil fields along Iran’s western border regions. In my first posts, to be published on 21 and 22 September—the anniversary of the outbreak of the war—I recount those days and the events I witnessed firsthand. Energy and climate are deeply intertwined. The Sohrab oil field and the Hoor al-Azim wetland offer a clear example of this connection. I will examine this and other similar cases through a different lens, asking different questions. M. Jahromi Senior Advisor, Energy & Climate
